Halloween isn't really a Christian holiday though in America we partake of it as well as any Christian
holiday. But, as Christians should we or shouldn't we partake in Halloween? The spirit of Halloween
itself represents darkness, death and anything evil. It was a Pagan ritual. Today we have taken this
Pagan ritual and made it a Holiday. True, today we do not believe in the things that people believed
2,000 years ago. But that does not change the nature of what it stood for then or stands for today.
For some people Halloween is nothing more than carving out a jack-o-lantern or letting your children
dress up in a costume and go door to door for "trick or treats". For some people Halloween is a
time to steal, practice their occult magic, sacrifice an animal, drink blood......
Ask yourself one
question. Does Halloween honor God? I believe that when we choose to ignore what Halloween truly
represents, we are following the worldly path.
Below are a couple of links that tell about the origin of Halloween. Please consider reading their stories and decide for your self.
