The light of my life, in you I'm complete;
keep my house lit with the burning desire to please you.
Your cause I will follow filled and not hollow.
Light of my life keep my path strait, on my way to heavens gate.
The light from your flame do not tame,
let it be the consuming fire that you are.
May it burn down the waysides and make the pathway fireproof, for they only lead to destruction.
Place in me a hedge that will protect my heart from its flame,
and may the rest of me be consumed for your glory.
The fowls of the air from its burn are only temporary,
but the light is everlasting.
Your grace is sufficient for all that I do, keep my candle lit for you.
I picked up my cross and kept your word,
keep me pressed as I walk foreword.
May the light of each day be anew and keep me uplifted in you;
Keep my cup full, for as you say,
the water I drink from I will never thirst.
Let it not run over so much that it puts out the flame,
but that it keeps me tame.
Your all power and glory be magnified in me,
and may it bring many to the cross so that it saves the lost.
Keep the flame burning so that I not go cold,
and as I grow old may the bible be told.
Many signs and wonders be so as it may,
the flame of you no money can pay.
Father of lights who's glory makes bright,
give others the chance to see the light.
Place in me your flame so that other can delight,
for one day will be called up with out a flight,
by the sound of a trumpet Gods glory full of light,
ever lasting always bright, never dark, only light.
Give prayers to the heavens for its sure delight,
complete in you God, fulfilled in your light.
The light of my life is your strong right hand,
mighty and true up lifted in you.
Father of lights if I only knew just how life was in you,
I'd be just like the earth great and true and never blue.
Just how far this light will glow that some day I will know.
In the midst of your glory I thank you that it's not a story,
but life everlasting for ever in your glory.
