James
5:16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one
another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous
man avails much.

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us
our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Rom 10:8-9
But what does it say? ....... 9 that if you confess with your
mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the
dead, you will be saved.

Our confession's should be to the person we have sinned against. When we sin against God, we should repent and ask forgiveness from him. When we sin against a spouse, child or neighbor, we need to humble ourselves and go to them asking forgiveness. It is a very humbling thing if your not use to doing that. But that is how we are forgiven and freed from burdens of sin.
