Discipline
Heb 12:5-7
"My son, do not make light of the Lord's discipline, and do not lose heart when he
rebukes you, 6 because the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes everyone he accepts as a
son." Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his
father?
(NIV)
Heb 12:10-11
Our fathers disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good,
that we may share in his holiness. 11 No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a
harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.
NIV
Rev 3:19
As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.
NKJV
Prov 15:10
Harsh discipline is for him who forsakes the way,
And he who hates correction will die.
NKJV
Prov 23:13-14
Do not withhold correction from a child,
For if you beat him with a rod, he will not die.
14 You shall beat him with a rod, And deliver his soul from hell.
NKJV
Depending on the Child, Discipline can be either "instructing" your child in correct behavior with words, or it could mean a "Time out". It may mean a good spanking. Start with the instructions and work your way up.
