The Trinity
Matt 28:19-20
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20
teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.
NKJV
The term "Trinity" is a term we are taught in church that declares the unity
of the Father, son and Holy Spirit. They are three individuals, but united as
one. Some will say that there is One God, in three persons. For more of an
explanation between the difference, please read our page One God.
The word trinity is not a biblical term. Somewhere in the structuring of
the early church, someone came up with that term.
Some have asked, "Does that make it wrong to use?"
I don't think it is wrong. It is just good to understand where some of our
terms come from.
We (man) tend to want to put labels on things for our understanding.
1 Cor 1:25
Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
NKJV
I tend to believe that there is much, much more to God and the things of heaven than man could possibly
understand. And our understanding of the Bible is limited to our true understanding of God and his purposes.
And unless the things that men speak go AGAINST scripture, I try not to be too judgmental.
I know that my understanding of God is just as limited as any other person.
Isa 40:13
Who has directed the Spirit of the LORD,
Or as His counselor has taught Him
